Classification by base
Rubber type: rubber sealant such as the base material. There used rubber polysulfide rubber, silicone rubber, urethane rubber, chloroprene rubber and butyl rubber.

Resin Type: This sealant resin-based material. Common epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, phenol resin, polyacrylic acid resin, polyvinyl chloride resin and the like.

Oil-based model: This sealant to oil as the base material. Commonly used oils have various types of vegetable oils such as linseed oil sealant, castor oil and tung oil, and animal oils, such as fish oil, and so on.

Classified by curing method
Such sealant use moisture in the air vulcanization. It includes a one-component polyurethane, silicone rubber, and polysulfide rubber. Its polymer matrix containing the active genes. Capable of forming a reaction with water in the air so that the sealant crosslinks vulcanized into a network structure. Moisture in the atmosphere as a vulcanization catalyst in the reaction.

According to the shape
Chemical curing sealant: two-component polyurethane, silicone rubber, polysulfide rubber, chloroprene rubber sealant and epoxy sealant fall into this category are generally complete cure at room temperature. Some single component of CSM and neoprene sealants and PVC sol paste sealant such as automotive spot welding glue under Canadian conditions shall complete cure by chemical reaction.
